September Kai Zen at Ascheron

Autumn is a time for preparation at Ascheron.
Indeed since August I have been preparing for Christmas. The jewelry industry has a lovely seasonal rhythm.
July and August are used for the creation of new designs and perfecting new techniques.
I was lucky enough to get two amazing holidays in this period. I visited the Aran Islands for a few days cycling and then I sailed part way up the Shannon river for a few more days.
September though is a most important month. All supplies must be ordered now to last into the new year.
From tissue, boxes shipping materials, small machine parts and even printer ink to gemstones everything must now be put in place and organized and ordered. I love very much the business theory of Kai Zen. This theory teaches to make small and constant improvements in my workshop. Over the course of the year all the small improvements add up to make very large improvements in processes and design and craft.
This process will continue to October when the focus changes to advertising my new designs.
By the end of October Ascheron is in full swing with many of my products sold each and every day. Then there is only time to craft from morning until evening each day. My working hours will be extended and I will easily work 12 hour days and almost every weekend until the Christmas holidays.
