Antique sapphire ring finds.

This incredible antique engagement ring features an old European cut diamond in the center with a halo of sapphires.
The center diamond weighs 1.25 carats and is a K color with a VVS clarity.
The diamond is accented by a halo of 16 French-cut sapphires that provide a gorgeous contrast of color. Finished in platinum, this striking ring is eye catching from every angle.

It’s a Ceylon sapphire and diamonds set in 18ct true yellow gold. The sapphire is a stunning colour, fairly even and good depth of colour without being dark. There is some evidence of colour zoning which suggests no heat treatment has been used. The diamonds are set in what reminds me of a lace collar around the stone. They are pave set whilst the stone is bezel set and run over. This all makes it a nice ring to wear everyday because the stones are well secured and low profile. .
The diamonds are all quite clear and very brilliant , a good white colour . They are good diamonds and this is an exceptional sapphire . The sapphire is as I have said an excellent example of a Ceylon sapphire, well cut and no visible wear. I am absolutely certain that anyone buying this or getting it as a gift will be absolutely blown away by it.
The Sapphire is 9mm x 6mm and the diamonds are in two sizes 10 of each I think 2.4mm approximately and 1.4 mm approximately.
